CONCORD – Yesterday in a radio interview House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made the outrageous claim that Senate Republicans were “trying to get away with murder, actually — the murder of George Floyd.” NHGOP Chairman Stephen Stepanek released the following statement demanding New Hampshire’s Federal Delegation condemn these absurd and disgusting comments:
“Senate Republicans are pursuing sensible legislation being crafted by U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-South Carolina), yet Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi decided to disgustingly label these efforts at policing reform as akin to the terrible murder of George Floyd. There’s no place in our politics for this despicable and degrading commentary, and I am calling on Jeanne Shaheen, Maggie Hassan, Ann Kuster, and Chris Pappas to immediately condemn Pelosi’s comments. Unfortunately, we know that the members of our Federal Delegation would rather hide from Pelosi than condemn her outrageous comments.”
