Republicans unanimously opposed the recommendation.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cDemocrats have tried and failed twice already this year to establish an income tax to pay for a state-run insurance program. Republicans have been steadfastly opposed to this concept because there are options out there for our citizens to have access to the same coverage through private insurance carriers, on a voluntary basis, that do not require an income tax,\u201d<\/em> Hinch stated.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe amended bill does nothing to ease Republicans\u2019 concerns about the legislation. You can wrap an old fish in paper, but it still stinks.
