Following the public hearing Senate Republican Leader Chuck Morse (R-Salem) and Senator Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) issued the following statements:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenate Democrats have proven again that an income tax in New Hampshire is their top priority, with the amendment heard today being the second time this year it has been proposed,\u201d said Senate Republican Leader Chuck Morse (R-Salem). \u201cThis amendment would give New Hampshire a higher income tax than our neighbors in Massachusetts. I will never support an income tax and am disappointed we are still having this conversation after Governor Sununu made it clear that he will veto any income tax legislation that comes to his desk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven with the state experiencing record high revenues, Senate Democrats are still advocating for an income tax on Granite Staters,\u201d said Senator Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro). \u201cThis Democratic legislature has veered so far from the party of John Lynch that it is unrecognizable today. We were sent to Concord to govern with fiscal responsibility and not waste taxpayer money.
