CONCORD – NHGOP Chairman Stephen Stepanek released the following statement after the Democrat Executive Council voted against Governor Sununu’s nomination of Ryan Terrell to the State Board of Education:

“The comments made before today’s party line vote by Andru Volinsky were disgusting, and we call on Dan Feltes to denounce his blatantly racist display,” said NHGOP Chairman Stephen Stepanek.

NHGOP Chairman Stephen Stepanek continued: “It is disgraceful that Councilors Cryans, Pignatelli, and Volinsky voted against Ryan Terrell’s nomination to the State Board of Education. Ryan is the first African-American nominee to the State Board of Education in over 10 years and is only the second African-American nominee in the board’s history. Democrats should be ashamed for voting down this exceptional nominee who brings a diverse educational background and successful business experience along with a great personal backstory to this position. Ryan Terrell and New Hampshire students deserved far better treatment from the Executive Council today.”
